Those delicate, reactionary guys didn’t like that a leftist was writing G.I. Joe, and took particular offense to the covers shown above. The first, by Giannis Milonogiannis, because it reimagined the G.I. Joe Salvo as a woman of color that wasn’t built like a fitness model, and the second, by Ed Luce, because it was deemed too “gay.”
